Meeting monthly, LA Flex covers subjects relevant to application development focusing mostly on Flash, Flex and ActionScript.  Topics range from open discussions on the usefulness of Flash in the mobile space to guest speakers from Adobe and framework developers. The business and software discussions are great, but the real value is being exposed to new ideas and methodologies. It is very easy to find a workflow or means of attacking common problems that make the whole evening worth the trip.
