We are proud to share with you our very own creation, Kandoobi Animals! It is a children’s activity app Tuesday concepted, designed and developed that is now available in the App Store. It was first launched in February for iPad, and after receiving positive feedback (it has a five star rating!), we next upgraded it to a universal app now available for download on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

This 4-in-1 app features coloring, character matching and simple spelling activities designed for children ages 18 months to five years old. It stars over 100 charming animal, bug and reptile characters with everything from bears and bees to blowfish and badgers. The app offers an engaging environment for parents and children to play together and is also simple enough for the little ones to enjoy on their own.

While Kandoobi has been a fun creative project for the team, it has also given us opportunities to refine our app UI design, development and marketing talents to better serve our client partners. We are also big fans of developing universal apps. A universal app is a single app that is optimized for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices. Universal apps give users multiple apps for the price of one since; instead of downloading and buying a “regular” version and an “HD” version, users only make one app purchase for all their account devices. Another bonus of universal app development is that we only have to design, build and test a single program, leading to both time and budget efficiencies.

Kandoobi Animals has been well received by parents, kids and mommy bloggers alike. We invite you to enjoy Kandoobi too! Visit the App Store and download today!

I had read about a javascript multi-direction hover design pattern a few weeks ago via veerle’s blog, but at the time had a difficult time understanding how it could be potentially useful and/or interesting in implementation. Why, I wondered, would you want the hover state to be different depending upon the direction in which you entered the rollover?

Then today while browsing designs on creattica, I clicked through to The Agency WordPress Theme which has implemented the pattern quite well. Roll over any of the thumbnails to see that the associated text animates in from the side of the thumbnail on which your mouse cursor originated, and animates out opposite the direction your mouse leaves. While the effect does not really serve a functional purpose, (it’s a fairly simple an innocuous enhancement) I think it really adds a nice finishing touch.

Harris Interactive, a leader in the consumer research industry, turned to us to help create an animated overview to launch their new mobile product.  This engaging and informative promotional piece colorfully highlights their ability to conduct mobile surveys and reach busy consumers on the go.  The new mobile tool is a great complement to their Research Lifestreaming product which taps into consumer conversation across social networks.  Click here to watch the animation.

Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, a leading Houston, Texas funeral service provider, wanted to redesign their website to be more effective while also preserving the essence of their physical location.  To accomplish this, they partnered with us to create a new site that would honor their 75 year tradition of excellence and educate visitors about their services. Having successfully redesigned the Dignity Memorial network of over 1,800 funeral homes, we were well-suited to take on this project.

Magical Elves, the Emmy Award winning production company is the force behind such popular reality television shows as Top Chef, America’s Next Great Restaurant, Project Runway and feature films including Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.  When they needed help with the redesign of their website, they turned to Tuesday Creative. For design inspiration, we used their striking Los Angeles office space mixing whites, purples and their trademark logo.  Launched as the Justin Bieber: Never Say Never DVD hit the shelves, the site provides company background and even gives potential reality stars a chance to audition to be on one of their hit shows.  Get your headshot touched up, visit the site and you may be the next big thing!

NBCUniversal is celebrating Healthy Week May 21-27 with the launch of “What Moves Me.” The campaign showcases what motivates the stars of their networks to keep moving and go healthy! As their digital partner, we completed a migration of the Healthy at NBCU site to WordPress for the launch and produced a sporty and fun iGo Healthy game for iPhone! We also created a host of promotional banners and produced a series of widgets to be placed across the NBCUniversal portfolio of sites and Facebook pages. Just released in the iTunes App Store is iShop Green! Created in partnership with iVillage and Green is Universal, this new app helps connect environmentally conscious consumers to eco-friendly shopping options available locally and online. We looked at the research and 9 out of 10 iVillage users make green lifestyle choices; from bringing reusable bags with them as they shop, to making green product purchases. “We created iShop Green in partnership with iVillage because it made sense to provide their existing ‘green’ audience with a tool that supports their lifestyles,” commented Nicole Walters, NBCUniversal Digital Media Manager. Whether you are looking for household products on the web, local merchants or farmers markets, this app will quickly get you there. It works by tapping into multiple green databases and serves up lists of green products, stores and websites.  Just plug in your zip code and iShop Green will help you go green for all your shopping needs! Download the free app today and do your part to help make a better tomorrow for the world.

Digging a little deeper into the possibilities of WordPress, we thought it might be helpful to dispel a common misconception about designing sites in it. Part of what makes WordPress so popular is that is has a vast supply of “Themes.” Themes are essentially pre-made design kits that allow people to quickly assemble a website. A little web searching will point you to hundreds of free themes to download and to other sites that sell them. As a result, many web designers think that WordPress sites must use a canned layout and are reluctant to use it in fear that it will stifle their design choices. Fortunately, this is not the case.
